Location & Directions
The best way to get here is on foot. When you leave the hotel turn right and take a left at Oliver St. John Gogartys pub. Go straight on until you reach Dame Street and take a left. Keep walking straight on Dame Street, passing Christchurch on your right and on into Thomas Street. At Crane Street turn left and at the end of the road turn right onto Market Street. You will find the Guinness Storehouse on the right. This should take approximately 20 minutes from the hotel.

Book of Kells    View

The Book of Kells is a 9th Century illuminated manuscript on permanent display in Dublin's Trinity College. Over 500, 000 people come to view this ornate historical book each year.

Location & Directions
Take a left when you leave the hotel and then take a right on Westmoreland Street. Keep walking straight and you will see Trinity College on your left. The walking distance from Temple Bar Hotel is approximately three minutes.

You can buy your Dublin Bus Tour ticket at the hotel Reception. You can then get on the bus at O'Connell Street. Take a left when you leave the hotel and then left onto Westmoreland Street and over O'Connell Bridge, onto O'Connell Street. Approximate walking distance from the hotel is ten minutes.

Dublin Castle     View

Dublin Castle is one of the city's most historical attractions. Built in 1204 it is one of the oldest surviving buildings in the city. It now houses a new visitor centre in its vaulted basement.

Dublin Zoo    View

Dublin Zoo is the third oldest zoo in the world (after London and Paris). Located in the Phoenix Park the zoo has over 240 species of wild animals and tropical birds. It is a popular attraction for both locals and visitors.

Keep walking until you reach Park Gate Street and you will see the entrance to Phoenix Park on your right. On entering Phoenix Park keep walking straight until you see the Zoo on your right. Approximately walking distance from Temple Bar Hotel is 30 to 40 minutes.

Kilmainham Gaol     View

Kilmainham Gaol is well worth a visit as it provides an insight into the history of Irish Republicanism. It is one of the most famous disused prisons in Ireland.

Phoenix Park    View

Fondly known as Dublin's playground, Phoenix Park is the largest park in Europe and offers a welcome retreat for city dwellers looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

When you leave the hotel take a left and then left again onto Westmoreland Street and left again after you cross O'Connell Bridge (onto the Quays). Keep walking until you reach Park Gate Street and you will see the entrance to Phoenix Park on your right.

St. Stephen's Green    View

This city centre park is beautifully landscaped with flowerbeds, trees, lakes and a fountain. It is a popular spot for office workers at lunch time, especially during the summertime.

Take a left when you leave the hotel and then a right onto Westmoreland Street. Keep walking up straight towards Grafton Street and up Grafton Street. You will see the entrance to St. Stephen's Green straight ahead of you. The approximate walking distance from the hotel is ten minutes.

Trinity College    View

Trinity College was founded in 1592 and among its most famous students to attend the college were playwrights Oliver Goldsmith and Samuel Beckett. Trinity College is home to the Book of Kells.

St. Patrick's Cathedral    View

This is Dublin's largest church and its beautiful interiors offer visitors a feast to the eyes.

At Christ Church take a left onto Nicholas Street which leads onto Patrick's street and you will see St. Patrick's Cathedral on your left. The Dublin Spire   View

Visitors to our capital city will find it difficult not to notice this large, stainless steel pin-like monument as it soars into the Dublin skyline. It is located on O'Connell street in Dublin city centre.
